Can't resist a challenge

OK. I have a lot to do today and on my list of To Do things was not create a card. But, while reading my facebook this morning I learned of the EmbellishmentMagazine.com Color Challenge Invitation. The challenge was to create an invitation using the colors they picked out. They are three of my FAVORITE colors. I just couldn't resist. You can see my card to the left. Unfortunately the colors in the photo didn't come out very good. I'm not sure why because I don't normally have that problem. You can learn more about the challenge at the Embellishment Magazine website. Here's the address: http://embellishmagazine.com/blog/2010/07/embellish-invitations-color-challenge-sponsored-by-unity-stamp-company/
It is co-sponsored with the Unity Stamp Co. What amazing stamps they have!!! I just learned of them this week so I didn't have any to use on my card. I have a TON of them on my Wish List. Today they are having a 40% off sale. It is only for today though. Go to their website to learn more. You can find them at:
http://unitystampco.com/
Check out their blog for the code for the sale. You can find it at:

Now don't blame me if you become addicted because I'm right there with you.
Enjoy!!

Here's a new card I created. I really liked the way it came out so I thought I'd share it here. I cut the flowers on my Cricut. I inked the edges - green on the white flower and white on the purple flower - then used the Provocraft spatula to add texture to the flowers. Enjoy!!

Trying something new

Robyn over at My Pink Stamper has put out a call for new members for her My Pink Stamper Design Team. I decided to challenge myself to come up with an entry. I have never done anything like this before so this is something that is outside of my comfort zone. I'm excited with my entry and you can find it above. I used my Creative Memories Everyday Display and the Cricut to highlight my daughter's senior prom picture. All of the papers except for the words "sr prom" and "memories" as well as the heart were cut from Creative Memories papers. The words and heart were cut out of Stampin Up paper. With my Cricut Expression, I cut the flowers using the Accent Essentials and Sweet Treats cartridges. I cut the heart with the George cartridge. The words were cut with the Lyrical Letters cartridge (LOVE that cartridge). I used Bags, Tags and More to cut the tag. I accented the tag with paper ribbon from Creative Memories. I sponged the edges of the white flower and the purple flower with Stampin Up inks. I added texture to these flowers by putting a crease down the center of each petal using the Cricut spatula. I had lots of fun creating this layout and am glad I pushed myself outside of my comfort zone. Thanks, Robyn.
